Our winemaker is Andrew McEwin. He is the great, great grandson of George McEwin, one of the first men to plant vines in the Adelaide Hills in the 1840s.
George McEwin sold his Glen Ewin Shiraz for 16 shillings per case. Andrew originally hails from McLaren Vale and is a highly respected winemaker amongst his peers. He has an impressive tally of over 260 show awards and 45 trophies since 1994 (on his own label). Andrew is a Director and foundation judge of Winewise. Andrew is the District’s quiet achiever.
Assistant winemaker, Phil Scott and our Vineyard Manager, Mark Mooney also help in the winemaking process.
