Don't miss the wine dinner of the year! A special event starring James Halliday's top 15 Canberra District wines, matched with Janet Jeffs' special menu featuring the regional produce of the national capital. From pre-dinner drinks served in the historic Members' Bar this is an event to celebrate the finest tastes of the Canberra region.
The dinner includes our 2007 'The Frontbencher' shiraz - rated 92 points by Halliday.
Wines will be perfectly matched to Janet Jeffs menu featuring Hobbit Farm Goats cheese ravioli with sage roasted pumpkin (vegetarian); Fricassee of Lake Bathurst rabbit with Jerusalem artichokes and cardamom jus and slow cooked Wyntrade lamb shoulder in a salt crust, smoked semi-dried tomato, mushroom ragout. The menu features five courses with a total of 15 wines.
Anne Caine, President of the Canberra District Wine Industry Association said: "We are very excited about this dinner, which will highlight some of the best wines produced in the Canberra District. We are also looking forward to enjoying these wines matched beautifully with the food of Janet Jeffs and conduct the event at such a prestigious venue as Old Parliament House. It will be a night to remember."
