Artist's Statement 

Eclectic:  deriving ideas, style,or taste from a diverse range of sources. 

Whilst some of this work is not my most recent it does illustrate and explain an evolution of inspiration which is the background to my current work.  The “Flotsam and Jetsam” series is a good example of recent work as it “Volcanic Silence”. 

I rarely use photographs as I prefer to store images, impressions and the atmosphere in the mental sketchbook!  I often make small watercolour sketches on site and use these to clarify images.  These small sketches may later become part of my artist's concertina books. 

My painting is from the heart – I hope you enjoy the work as much as I have enjoyed making it.
