DOMINIC MICO

Arts identity and founder of the National Multicultural Festival, Domenic Mico OAM, has further delved into his relationship with colour and space in his latest series of large format oil paintings titled ‘In the shadow of light’. 

Domenic has spent the past year creating a new series of works that continue the exploration of his previous bodies. After a sell-out exhibition at FORM Gallery in Queanbeyan during 2018 and his most recent showing of 25 works at M16 in 2020 just before the COVID-19 pandemic took hold, Domenic has challenged himself during the past year of uncertainty. He has focused on introspective thought. The boundaries of the self are neither sharp, nor fixed and his latest works are an outpouring of thought transformed into light, colour and shadow.
