2022 Vintage Report

Unfortunately, several vineyards in Murrumbateman lost up to 80% of their crops due to the hail storm in February.

Fortunately the Jeir Station vineyard that supplies most of the grapes for Capital Wines escaped the hail.

With the heavy rains this season, growth in the vineyard has been prolific and the crops look very good.

Vintage will start with the Canberra fruit within two weeks.

Our Tempranillo has already arrived in the winery from our Wagga based grower.

We are hoping that there will be no more rain in Canberra so that Vintage can start as smoothly as possible.
